This specialisation is available only to students undertaking the Bachelor of Music degree program.
The Advanced Performance specialisation gives elite students the opportunity to develop refine their skills in solo performance to a professional level. Students wishing to pursue Honours or advanced-level study in performance will have the opportunity within the Music Practice major combined with the Advanced Performance specialization to focus on the development of their skills in their instrument over six semesters, as well as developing the requisite aural skills to support this focus and gaining significant ensemble experience – to an overall total of 72 units.
Learning Outcomes
Students completing the Advanced Performance specialisation will:
- Develop their instrumental/vocal skills to an elite level over at least four semesters of intensive performance training;
Requirements
This specialisation may only be undertaken in conjunction with the Music Practice major.
This specialisation requires the completion of 24 units, which must include:
24 units from completion of the following compulsory courses:
MUSM3300 - Performance (studio) 1 (6 units)
MUSM3301 - Performance (studio) 2 (6 units)
MUSM3302 - Performance (studio) 3 (6 units)
MUSM3303 - Performance (studio) 4 (6 units)
