Course Description

This course will examine the evolution of art and design from 1900 to the present day. An understanding of the idea of modernism as an aesthetic and theoretical concept will be a predominant theme. Differing views about the social role of visual culture and the institutions that maintain it will be explored. The course will include studies of original works held in Australian galleries.
