Course Description

This seminar is designed for third-year students intending to do honours in the Faculty of Asian Studies. Students will be introduced to planning a research project, to a variety of research techniques and to a range of disciplinary approaches. Academic staff in the Faculty will be invited to share their expertise with the class.

Indicative Assessment

Class participation (20%), Bibliography exercise (10%), Fieldwork exercise (10%), Essay and research proposal (60%).

Requisite Statement

14 university courses (84 units) including five ASIA coded courses, with grades at the level of good credit, or permission of the course coordinator.

Majors/Specialisations Asian Politics, Cognitive Major (Asian Politics and International Relations), and Cognitive Major (Asian Literature)
