| Course Description |
An individual course of readings on a topic identified by the student in consultation with the coordinator. The focus will be on English language material but students with particular Asian language skills will be encouraged to use them where possible. Weekly meetings to discuss material covered will be on a one-to-one basis. |
| Learning Outcomes | As each individual student's project will be tailored to specific supervisors, the learning outcomes will differ. Nevertheless, as most will pursue guided reading and research papers, it can be expected that the course will promote students' knowledge of the selected area; critical reading and analysis skills; and writing ability consistent with a guided research project. |

Reports (40%), Research essay of 3,000 words (60%). |
