The course will cover the most frequent hazards in Asia-Pacific; the human scale of disasters from natural hazards and other causes in Asia-Pacific; people ‘at risk' in Asia-Pacific - location, age, class, gender; the capacity of Asia-Pacific societies to cope with disasters; the capacity of Asia-Pacific government to cope with natural hazards; and international responses to Asia-Pacific disasters. |
