Course Description This course provides customised opportunities to capitalise on the current research being conducted in the Research School of Chemistry, including by visiting scholars, by students either  undertaking a supervised research project or attending a series of graduate lectures
Learning Outcomes On satisfying the requirements of this course, students will have the knowledge and skills to engage with a specific area of chemistry in the context of theoretical and/or laboratory-based research.
Indicative Assessment Assessment will be customised to the specific student and topic area, and could include, for example, laboratory exercises or reports, research reports, examinations, or seminar presentations.
Workload 65 hours of theoretical and/or lab based research and 65 hours of independent learning - if taken as a 6 unit course.
Course Classification(s) AdvancedAdvanced courses are designed for students having reached 'first degree' level of assumed knowledge, which provide a deep understanding of contemporary issues; or 'second degree' and higher levels of knowledge; or for transition to research training programs. and SpecialistSpecialist courses are designed for students having reached 'first degree' level of assumed knowledge, which provide for the acquisition of specialist skills; or 'second degree' and higher level of knowledge; or for transition to research training programs; or knowledge associated with professional accreditation.

Eligibility Students must have a Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent with a major in chemistry.
Requisite Statement As deemed appropriate by the convenor.
