| Course Description |
This course guides advanced students in extensive reading and in analysis and discussion of Chinese texts in a field of specialisation. The content of the Unit will be determined in the light of students specific needs and the availability of teaching, and will prepare students for independent research in their field. |
| Learning Outcomes | It is expected that students should become able to read unabridged Chinese texts on current major issues relating to China and Australia and conduct in-depth analysis and translation. Students' two-way translation skills should have improved to a working level proficiency. |
| Indicative Assessment |
One book review of 1000 words ((25%); one seminar presentation and related essay of 1000 words (30%); one essay of 2000 words (50%). Graduate students attend joint classes with undergraduates but may expect more rigorous assessment and additional assignment work, tailored to the graduate students’ interests. |
