This course introduces to students to the emerging discipline of cultural epidemiology, defining what it is and how it might be undertaken. It focuses on employing cultural theories, concepts and related methods to the health of populations and sub-populations. The course will cover

| Learning Outcomes |
Students will be expected to gain at the postgraduate level, skills in:

| Indicative Assessment | 6,000 words written assessment, (90%), seminar/ online participation (10%). Written assessment will consist of 2 short papers on specific topics and one major essay (5,000 words). |
| Workload | Two day intensive course on campus with additional online teaching via computer and internet. Online teaching methods may include podcasting, interactive tuturoals, live chat and discussion fora. |
