| Course Description | Students will address an approved topic relevant to the group from a range of classical world themes (historical, literary, or cultural). |
| Learning Outcomes | With the completion of the seminar the student will have read deeply in and given a thought to a particular field of classical world studies. He/she will also have developed skills in collecting, reading, analysing and evaluating evidence; formulating an argument; presenting it orally to a group of scholars; and writing up the discussion in clear and readable prose. |

10% participation 50% essays (2 x 3500 words) Examination (40%) |
| Workload | Weekly meetings of two hours plus fourteen hours reading, research and writing. A language component may be included (one hour). |
