Course Description

This is a graduate course that covers advanced topics in Artificial Intelligence. Topics vary from one offering to the next and are likely to be drawn from the following list:  planning & scheduling, games, constraint-based reasoning, knowledge compilation, model-based reasoning, decision-making under uncertainty, reinforcement learning.

Learning Outcomes

Planning: Students will be familiar with the representative planning problems and the most basic planning algorithms as well as the main applications of planning.

Spatial and Temporal Reasoning: Students will be familiar with different ways of representing spatial and temporal knowledge and with techniques for reasoning about this knowledge and tools and methods for analysing reasoning algorithms.

Course Classification(s) AdvancedAdvanced courses are designed for students having reached 'first degree' level of assumed knowledge, which provide a deep understanding of contemporary issues; or 'second degree' and higher levels of knowledge; or for transition to research training programs. and SpecialistSpecialist courses are designed for students having reached 'first degree' level of assumed knowledge, which provide for the acquisition of specialist skills; or 'second degree' and higher level of knowledge; or for transition to research training programs; or knowledge associated with professional accreditation.
