Course Description

The Independent Study 2 is a course requiring students to continue independent research, demonstrating their technical and concept development in a further one-semester project, the topic and methodology of which is approved by the course convenor. The course is conducted as a single supervised studio practice, and provides advanced study in the practice of new media in a specific stream offered by the Centre for New Media Arts.

Indicative Assessment

Assessment is by a Research Proposal, a Project Report and the Presentation of the Major Project to the Viva Examination panel. Research Proposal (20%), Major Project Report (20%), Major Project (60%)

Workload

1 hour tutorial per week
2.5 hours studio practice per week

Students are expected to do at least an extra 4 - 6 hours of independent studio practice each week
