This course is a research component of East Asian Studies 2, and generally takes the form of a term paper of up to 6,000 words written on a topic related to the subject-matter of the East Asian Studies 2 course. Wherever possible, students are encouraged to utilise sources in the language of their area of study. The precise topic should be discussed with the course instructor, who will also advise the student or, where appropriate, facilitate supervision of the paper by another member of the academic staff.
