This course is part of a comprehensive program to integrate work placement and the honours program within the Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) (IBL) degree program. This course is designed to link a student with their prospective honours supervisor who will prescribe a course of readings relevant to the industry the student seeks to be employed in (eg. accounting, finance, e-commerce or economics). It is intended that students undertake this course prior to their internship so that they may develop greater awareness of industry based issues and subsequently use and integrate this understanding with the development of their honours research.

This course will provide students with the opportunity to undertake a program of supervised, guided readings in their discipline area of interest. The discipline specific nature of the course will require that each student’s readings are tailored to the student’s interests. The readings will be appropriate to the level of the student's ability within their study program and will complement the student's choice of major area of study. There is no coursework component.
