| Course Description |
This course covers the important aspects of power electronic circuits, components and design. Topics include device characteristics, heat dissipation, failure modes and discrete transistor circuits. Power magnetic devices are examined, together with their associated drive circuitry and snubbers. Techniques for designing DC-power supplies, static power inverters and universal power supplies, DC-DC converters, and switch-mode power supplies are discussed.
