Course Description

This course aims to place biomedical engineering in a systems context and to introduce anatomy, physiology, biocompatibility, biological signal analysis, biomaterials, medical radiation, patient safety and medical device regulation using a case-study approach. Relevant background material will be reviewed.

Course Classification(s) AdvancedAdvanced courses are designed for students having reached 'first degree' level of assumed knowledge, which provide a deep understanding of contemporary issues; or 'second degree' and higher levels of knowledge; or for transition to research training programs.
