Readings from representative short stories and novels by 20th century authors. |
| Indicative Assessment |
Class participation (20%), Speech / Presentation (5%), Reading tests (10%), Kanji tests (10%), Essay 1 (5%), Essay 2 (10%), Mid-term exam (10%), Final exam (30%). Graduate students attend joint classes with undergraduates but may expect more rigorous assessment and additional assignment work, tailored to the graduate students’ interests. Graduate students may expect a final assignment rather than an exam. |
