Unit Value Range	6 units to 24 units
Course Description	Students undertake a reading course in m athematics under the supervision of a member of staff. The credit value for this course can range between 6 and 24 units.
Learning Outcomes	On satisfying the requirements of this course, students will have the knowledge and skills to: 1. Explain the fundamental concepts of a chosen research reading topic. 2. Systematically identify relevant theory and concepts, and draw appropriate conclusions. 3. Demonstrate capacity for mathematical reasoning through analyzing, proving and explaining concepts from the chosen research reading topic. 4. Engage in systematic discovery and critical review of appropriate and relevant information sources. 5. Communicate research concepts and contexts clearly and effectively both in writing and orally.
Indicative Assessment	Assessment will be based on a student-customised set of assessment tasks relevant to the topic(s) being studied.
