| Course Description |
Management consulting is a growing and influential sector of the service industries sector. Both in government and the private sector management has come to be increasingly reliant on outside advice for a range of services from strategy through to IT infrastructure. An understanding of the management consulting industry and how consultants operate is therefore important for all public and private sector managers. This course is delivered in interactive seminar mode and involves preparing a consultancy proposal and presenting it to a client. An assignment testing the students' knowledge and understanding of management consulting will be written following the course. |

| Indicative Assessment |
All components of the above assessment are compulsory and must be submitted. You must obtain 50% or more as an aggregate mark to be eligible for an automatic pass grade in this course. |
| Workload |
Students should be prepared to put in quite a few additional hours during the course outside the classroom times to prepare the written consultancy proposal, which is due on Day 4 at 10am and for their presentation to a client beginning that afternoon. |

| Eligibility | At least an average of 65% (or equivalent) in the final two years of an Australian undergraduate degree and 3 years professional work experience since graduation. |
| Requisite Statement | Students wishing to take this course will be required to have already completed at least 24 units of other courses towards their Master of Management or MBA degrees. Students seeking to clarify this should contact the course coordinator. |
