| Course Description |
Instrumental Studies aims to develop the student's skills and abilities on an instrument/voice. Study of an instrument/voice is undertaken in individual tuition and in associated practical activities as relevant to the discipline and appropriate to the student's level of technical ability.

1. A demonstrated growth in technique, practice habits, musical and stylistic sensitivity. 2. A demonstrated growth in expression of creative ideas using musical language. |
| Indicative Assessment |
Assessment will be by teacher's report (20%) and an area exam of 15 minutes (80%). Students will be assessed according to their increasing level of achievement. |
| Workload |
Total contact time 1.5 hours per week, including individual tuition normally for half an hour per week, plus performance classes (classical). Attendance at and participation in concert practice may be recommended. Voice and Jazz students may be required to participate in ensemble activities. |
