| Course Description |
Peace is normally regarded as morally superior to conflict, but what is the justification for this view. Is engaging in war ever morally justified and, if so, what are the conditions under which it is morally justified. Once war has been embarked upon, are there any moral requirements in relation to its conduct; or is it a case of ?anything goes?. What are the conditions under which armed humanitarian intervention is morally justified or required? What moral principles ought to be operative in the aftermath of war, eg in relation to those who have prosecuted an unjust war by unjustified means. Do the principles of restorative justice have a role to play once conflict has ended? |
