| Course Description |
An examination of philosophical problems concerning the nature of mind and of the mind-body relation. Different approaches to the character of the mental will be discussed, such as behaviourism, forms of materialism and reductionism, and especially recent work on functionalism. |

1,500 word essay (40%), examination (50%) and tutorial participation (10%). |
