Course Description

This course discusses the properties of nonlinear materials for Photonic applications, in particular:

  • Non linear crystals
  • Nonlinear polymer and nonlinear films

This material will be use to build complete photonics devices such as planar waveguides, couplers and optical switches. 

Course Classification(s) AdvancedAdvanced courses are designed for students having reached 'first degree' level of assumed knowledge, which provide a deep understanding of contemporary issues; or 'second degree' and higher levels of knowledge; or for transition to research training programs.

Eligibility Bachelor degree; with third year Physics or Electrical/Electronics Engineering. 
Requisite Statement Third year Physics or Electrical/Electronics Engineering is required.
