Course Description

There are two sub-courses associated with Clinical Field Placement II

Clinical Placement II - ANU Clinic Placement

In this unit trainees begin undertaking clinical work.  The clinical work will involve assessing and treating clients in the School's Psychology Clinic under the supervision of various members of staff. Trainees are expected to carry a case-load of 4 clients, attend supervision with their allocated supervisor and other supervisor and professional activities.

After successfully completing their first clinical placement, students are allocated to an internship within one of a number of agencies providing clinical psychological services within the ACT or surrounding NSW region.  The placement is approximately 250 hours duration.

Professional ethics and professional practice II - 1 hr/week

Professional Practice meeting and other clinic meetings and sessions on ethical issues

Course Classification(s) SpecialistSpecialist courses are designed for students having reached 'first degree' level of assumed knowledge, which provide for the acquisition of specialist skills; or 'second degree' and higher level of knowledge; or for transition to research training programs; or knowledge associated with professional accreditation.

Eligibility

Enrolment is restricted to students enrolled in the Master of Clinical Psychology, Doctor of Psychology (Clinical) or Doctor of Philosophy (Clinical Psychology) at the School of Psychology.
