| Course Description |
An on-campus course that will give candidates the opportunity to have hands-on research experience in a chosen discipline area based within the Faculty of Science or associated Research Schools or a combination of both. Candidates will become attached to a working research group and will be supervised during the placement by members of the academic staff of the University. While practical research at the bench or in the field is not specifically excluded it seems more likely that candidates for the degree will not have the necessary time available to complete a specific and delineated project. Rather, they will be free to explore the breadth and depth of developments in their chosen area under close supervision and to interact on a daily working basis with practising scientists at the cutting edge of evolving scientific discovery.
