| Course Description | This course looks at traditional mass media including newspapers, magazine and radio. The course acquaints students with these media types and introduces them to the skills needed to communicate science using each media. |
| Learning Outcomes |
On satisfying the requirements of this course, students will have the knowledge and skills to: 1. Locate and research science stories suitable for traditional mass media outlets2. Write about science clearly and in 'plain English', adapting style and content for different publications and style of publication 3. Write, read and record items for voice media 4. Understand and evaluate scientific information in the context of a news story |
