| Course Description |
The course will examine the sociological theories of Karl Marx, Max Weber and Emile Durkheim. The social and intellectual contexts of the development of the classical sociological traditions will be considered. The influence of Marx, Weber and Durkheim on recent sociology will also be treated. |
| Indicative Assessment |
Essay (50%), Take home exam (30%) and Tutorial Participation (20%). |

20 hours of lectures and 12 hours of tutorials. Lectures will not be taped. |
