Course Description

This course is designed to further develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills in the Spanish language. Grammatical structures and vocabulary are reviewed and extended and further training is provided in language learning strategies. Students are also exposed to texts and audio-visual materialsin which the cultures and societies of Spanish-speaking countries are explored further.

Learning Outcomes On successful completion, the students' communicative competence should enable them to function effectively in the predictable communication requirements of a Spanish-speaking environment, and to be able to function adequately in unpredictable situations. They should be able to understand, talk and write on a variety of topics in a more complex Spanish. Furthermore, they should be able to read short literary and current affairs texts and relate them to Spanish-speaking cultures.
Indicative Assessment

A mixture of tests (70%), assignments (25%), performance and participation in class (5%).
