The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (Honours)(Sustainability) is a contemporary interdisciplinary degree which prepares students to address the challenges of sustainability. The degree draws from the complementary strengths of the ANU Colleges in education and research for sustainability. The degree is structured around:

- a common core of courses focused in interdisciplinary learning and research skills relevant to sustainability, and their application to practice

- a limited suite of courses which provide the foundation for knowledge and skills relevant to the breadth of sustainability challenges

- a choice of two majors which are complementary to sustainability to develop particular knowledge and skills relevant to sustainability. Students will have the opportunity to complete an internship course or equivalent as part of
a major

- completion of an honours year program from any Faculty.

The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (Sustainability) is offered in both pass mode and in direct Honours entry mode to outstanding students, reflecting its emphasis on research-intensive learning and practice. Students wishing to complete the Honours degree must maintain an average mark of 75 per cent each semester in the first 144 units of the degree. Students can elect to complete a Pass degree upon completion of 144 units.

Admission Requirements

Admission to all programs is on a competitive basis, taking into account all relevant academic qualifications. If you hold more than one qualification, admission will be based on your overall record. Tertiary qualifications are generally weighted more heavily than secondary. If you have completed an approved tertiary preparation course or alternative entry scheme, you will be assessed on the results of that scheme alone, unless you have undertaken subsequent study.

The table below is a guide to the entry level required for domestic applicants. Exact entry level will be set at time of offer.
