Program Requirements

The program requires completion of 24 units of postgraduate courses offered by the School of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology or other College of Sciences postgraduate courses relevant to biotechnology. The BaMBi courses will usually include:

Assessment is designed to determine a student's:

  1. knowledge of the fundamental biology which underlies common biotechnology methodologies;
  2. knowledge of the methological approaches that are commonly used in biotechnology;
  3. capacity to apply new knowledge to biotechnological problems
  4. ability to synthesize and critically analyse published literature of relevance to biotechnology;
  5. ability to perform experimental work and write reports;
  6. ability to present research work to peers and research scientists
