Program Requirements

Students must satisfactorily achieve a minimum pass grade in 48 units of credit to qualify for the Master of Financial Management.

Students must pass and achieve a grade average of 70% across the Master of Financial Management program to transfer to the second year of the Master of Finance Program or other Faculty 2 year Masters program.

Degree Structure

The program is 48 units consisting of 30 units of core courses and 18 units of elective courses.

The program combines intensive mode and semester length courses.  All 6 unit courses are taught in semester length mode.  3 unit courses are generally taught in intensive mode.

  • FINM7006 Financial Markets and Systems (6 units)
  • FINM7007 Financial Management (6 units)
  • BUSN7008 Financial Statements and Reporting (6 units)
  • FINM7009 Financial Policy and Corporate Strategy (6 units)
  • STAT7055 Quantitative Methods (6 units)

Elective Courses (18 units)

Elective courses to the value of 18 units are to be chosen from the postgraduate courses offered by the School of Finance and Applied Statistics or from appropriate other courses approved by the program coordinator.  A listing of some of the available electives is provided below.
