From 2004 no new enrolments will be accepted in this program. New students should enrol in the Master of Public Policy specialising in Development Administration.
The Master of Development Administration is designed for men and women who: * have been working in a government agency or NGO in a developing or transitional country and want to widen their management skills and knowledge about development issues. For example, students have come from the Statistics Office, the Ombudsman's office, or a regional government.
* have been working in an aid agency, who want to increase their skills in management, increase their understanding of development issues, and gain a qualification. For example, students have come from AusAID or the Salvation Army.
* want to study and carry out research on practical or theoretical issues in development.
Prerequisites
Applicants should normally hold: (1) qualifications equivalent to a degree of Bachelor with first or upper second class honours from an Australian University or a Graduate Diploma in Development Administration awarded with Merit or Distinction; (2) qualifications equivalent to a degree of Bachelor from an Australian University and substantial relevant work experience, as determined by the Prescribed Authority; or (3) an equivalent combination of postgraduate study in Development Administration and relevant work experience, as determined by the Prescribed Authority.
