| Course Description |
Examination of key sources on emotion in the social sciences. Topics covered include components of emotion, cultural influences on emotion and emotional expression, the social ontology of emotion, and the role of emotion in the agency of the body in society. Includes discussion of individual emotions such as love, shame and envy. Also discussed are the place of emotion in the analysis of religion, politics, and health and illness. |
