Course Description This course is a course that will examine the many and different ways of being Chinese throughout the Sinophone world.

Learning Outcomes Understand issues in the history and development of the variety of Chinese speaking nations, territories, and communities; to integrate this theoretical and historical knowledge with empirical examples; learn to think critically; develop skills in synthesising and contextualising new information; develop skills to locate, analyse, evaluate and synthesise information from a wide variety of sources, both Western and Chinese; develop the ability to work in cooperative groups on key issues in this field of Chinese Studies and to communicate findings to others.
Indicative Assessment

Tutorial presentation with 1,000 word report (20%)

Two 3,000 word essays  (40%) each
