Course Description

: Malaysia has a multicultural population about the size of Australia?s. This course looks into the dramatic transformations modern Malaysia has experienced, focussing on a number of interlinked topics including ethnic relations, economic development, urbanisation and religious intensification together with changes in political policy and practice.

Indicative Assessment

To be determined at opening lecture. Graduate students attend joint classes with undergraduates but may expect more rigorous assessment and additional assignment work, tailored to the graduate students? interests. Graduate students may expect a final assignment rather than an exam.
