| Course Description |
Students will research the scientific literature on an appropriate topic in chemistry and write a research proposal under the supervision of an academic mentor in the discipline of Chemistry. |
| Learning Outcomes |
On satisfying the requirements of this course, students will have the knowledge and skills to: 1. express a deeper understanding in a nominated area of specialisation in chemistry2. demonstrate enhanced scientific writing and oral communication skills in the context of presenting chemistry 3. critically analyse scientific work. |

| Workload | 130 hours of independent learning. |
| Eligibility | Students must have a Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent with a major in chemistry with relevant experience or honours. Applicants with the equivalent of a pass degree may be admitted if they have a high level of relevant academic achievement. The course is compulsory for all students enrolled in the Master of Chemistry. |
