Indicative Assessment

Assessment will be based on (1) weekly translation tests (total 25% ); (2) 4 review tests at end of weeks 4, 7, 10, and 13; (15% each), and (3) classroom participation and attendance (15%).  Class attendance and participation is required.  Participation will be marked on attendance, willingness to participate, preparation and performance of oral reading and responding to questions.

  • Attendance is required. Unexcused absences may affect the final grade, and students missing more than four classes may not receive credit for the course.

Classical Chinese 1 CHIN6530. Unless exempted by the Graduate Program Convener all graduate students must enrol concurrently in the course Graduate Language Supplement EAST8024 which usually includes a written assessment piece of several thousand words.
