Course Description

This course is available so that students can conduct, under superivision, a small project that will significantly increase their depth of knowledge in some aspect of software engineering theory or practice.
The activities in the course will normally include some combination of reading and writing as appropriate to the project. The learning objectives, project overview and assessment arrangements will be specified at the outset using the Department of Computer Science form 'Independent Study Contract'.

Indicative Assessment

An appropriate combination of written report and presentation (which may include a demonstration of the deliverable).

Requisite Statement

Written approval of Head of Department of Computer Science. Minimal background is 24 units of 3000-level COMP courses. Approval is also contingent on the availability of supervision.
