| Course Description |
Major 2 continues the introduction of students to their discipline in design arts. Basic skills, techniques and processes, including occupational health and safety instruction, are extended and the engagement with the conceptual underpinnings of the subject area continues. Instruction is through project-based studio work and a program of studio theory. |

By the end of this course you should be able to:

| Indicative Assessment | Portfolio of studio work (80%) and Journal/Documentation/Studio Theory presentation (20%). Assessment includes periodic critique and review sessions that provide ongoing feedback on work in progress. |
| Workload | 8 hours per week lectures, tutorials, critiques and supervised studio practice and 4 hours per week independent studio practice. |
