| Course Description |
The Bachelor of Design Arts Honours program at the School of Art is offered in the following disciplines: Ceramics, Furniture, Glass, Gold and Silversmithing, Sculpture and Textiles. The program offers graduates of a three year Bachelor degree program the opportunity to pursue high-level studio-based Design research projects under the supervision of senior staff. Through the planning, preparation and execution of a two-semester project, Honours students explore contextual, technical, and theoretical dimensions of specific modes of design practice. |

| Indicative Assessment |
At the end of the program, students present a portfolio of studio work (80%) and submit a 3 - 5000 wd exegesis which gives a detailed explanation of their project and provides a critical analysis of contextual issues (20%). |

| Eligibility |
Candidates must have successfully completed three years of the Bachelor of Visual Arts or equivalent qualification normally at the level of Distinction, and have had their Honours Research Proposal approved by the School of Art Committee, or it's nominee.
