| Course Description |
The course will involve students in the whole process of production. They will perform, design and stage manage, etc, a play that will be directed by one of the Theatre Studies staff. The play will be chosen from plays written before 1900 and will explore the particular problems involved in presenting plays whose performance conventions are different from those normally employed in modern theatre. |
| Learning Outcomes | On satisfying the requirements of this course students will have experienced the process of the production of a major work of theatre through performance under full production conditions. |
| Indicative Assessment |
2,000 word essay (25%), tutorial presentation (25%) and workshop assessment and end of semester performance (50%). |
| Workload |
Offered every three years with DRAM2011 Experience of Theatre I and DRAM2014 Experience of Theatre III : Three and a half hours per week: one 1-hour lecture, one 1-hour tutorial and one 1.5 hour workshop At least 12 hours rehearsal time over the course of the semester. 1 hour reading time per week. |
