Course Description

Each student will mount a full production lasting no more than 60 minutes, to be cast, designed and directed by each honours student, or undertake the complete design of a production including costumes and set designs with the construction of a set model.  Each student will also submit a written analysis of the production and take part in a vive voce examination on the production with the staff of Drama.

Students will also undertake an Honours thesis, a drama course, and a series of Honours seminars dealing with scholarship, research methodologies and thesis-related issues. 

Learning Outcomes

On satisfying the requirements of this program, students will have the knowledge and skills to carry out an in depth analysis and practical application through a focus on a specific research project and a full production of a written text.

 

Indicative Assessment

15,000 word thesis (40%)

Production and 6,000 word analysis (40%)

Honours course: 7,500 words total assessment (20%)
