| Course Description |
Techniques of constrained optimisation including both equality and inequality constraints, maximum value functions and the envelope theorem; general equilibrium including fixed points, existence and uniqueness of competitive equilibria and the fundamental theorems of welfare economics; dynamic optimisation; the maximum principle; and dynamic programming and Bellman's Equation. |

Students who complete the course will be able to read sophisticated papers at the frontiers of macroeconomics and applied dynamics and to create applications of their own. |

Class presentation(10%), assignments(40%), and final exam (50%). |
