Course Description

Advanced field mapping in a deformed terrane,  teaching the basics as to how to make a map when the geology is  complicated. The field component is held over two weeks in June/July  and reports and maps are submitted for assessment at the end of the  field period.  Assessment will be complete by the end of July.

Indicative Assessment

Based on the quality of the maps and cross- sections produced in the field, plus a participation component.  Field  notebooks will be also examined as supplementary material.

Workload

Two weeks field mapping to be held in the break between semesters 1 and 2
