Course Description

This course is focused on English literary satire in the first half of the eighteenth century. It will examine famous satiric works by six major writers from the period: Daniel Defoe, Jonathan Swift, John Gay, Alexander Pope, Henry Fielding and Samuel Johnson.

Written assignments totaling 4,000 words: 100%

Workload 20 Hours of Lectures and 1 hour tutorial per week.
