| Course Description |
Examination of research papers in the corporate finance literature is an essential component. Topics covered in this course will vary as new developments in corporate finance emerge. However, the topics covered will typically be drawn from: issuing securities, capital structure, capital budgeting, dividend policy, corporate governance, and corporate control and incentive problems. |
| Learning Outcomes |
This course is aimed at Honours and Graduate students and is designed to immerse these students in key corporate finance research and research methodologies, thereby providing them with a framework for considering other corporate finance problems and issues. The material studied during the course is a blend of key theoretical and empirical corporate finance work, with particular emphasis placed on the interface between theoretical models and empirical tests of these models. Moreover, classes will use the extant literature as a base from which to develop and test corporate finance research questions and communicating the results of this testing to finance scholars and practitioners alike. |

| Eligibility |
At least an average of 65% (or equivalent) in the final two years of an Australian undergraduate degree with at least one year of university level study in quantitative analysis, including basic mathematics and data analysis techniques. |

Assumed Knowledge and Required Skills |
To be eligible to enroll in the course, students must either have been admitted into the Honours year in the College of Business and Economics or be enrolled in a Graduate Program within the College and have successfully completed undergraduate studies in Corporate Finance or its equivalent at a recognised academic institution. |
