| Course Description |
This course analyses the making of the Italian nation and how this process has been represented, mainly through literature and cinema, from the Risorgimento to the present day. |
| Learning Outcomes |
1. Demonstrate understanding of a variety of primary and secondary texts (historical, literary and visual). 2. Demonstrate critical engagement with aspects of Italian history. 3. Apply this knowledge and analytical competence to research, assess and question different representations of Italy to provide their own critical and well-supported oral and written evaluations. |
| Indicative Assessment |
Graduate students may attend joint classes with undergraduates. Assessment will include additional assignment work and a research essay on italian literature, history and cinema. |
