Course Description This course places emphasis on the acquisition of spoken and written language skills, and by the end of the course students will be able to conduct a simple daily conversation and to find their way around in Korea.
Learning Outcomes To provide students with a beginner's competency in spoken and written Korean, including the ability to communicate in Korean in basic, everyday situations (asking directions, buying clothes, introducing oneself, talking about family etc.).
Indicative Assessment

Vocabulary quizzes (40%), one spoken test (10%), and two written tests (totaling 50%). Graduate students attend joint classes with undergraduates but may expect more rigorous assessment and additional assignment work, tailored to the graduate students’ interests.
