| Course Description |
Objectives To provide an overall understanding of the legal issues relevant to Heritage protection and a thorough knowledge of related policy issues. Content The protection of Australian's natural heritage following the Australian Heritage Commission Act 1975 and (in particular) the World Heritage properties Conservation Act 1983; what is meant by the term "heritage" and why we wish to protect it; analysis of both Commonwealth and State Heritage legislation and associate case-law, examining the role of the Australian Heritage Commission and the Register of the National Estate. |
