| Course Description |
The program normally consists of coursework (50%) and research (50%), although under specific circumstances it may be possible to increase the proportion of coursework. For the coursework component, courses totalling a minimum of 24 units chosen from 3rd year Honours Pathway level courses or 4th year honours courses in computational mathematics, computer science or an area that complements the application area must be taken. At least 2 courses should be at the 4th year level. For the research component, a research thesis is produced, which normally takes the form of an in-depth survey article on a particular topic in computational science. |

On satisfying the requirements of this course, students will have the knowledge and skills to: 1. Explain the fundamental concepts of a chosen research topic and its role in modern mathematics and applied contexts. |
