Course Description This course provides students with an opportunity to undertake guided systematic study in a relevant area of interest  not covered by other program offerings or to explore in more depth the theoretical underpinnings of key debates in ethics and public policy
Learning Outcomes

When successfully completed, students will have developed an advanced understanding both of central and current issues in a chosen area of professional and applied ethics.

Indicative Assessment one 6000 word essay or two 3000 word essays
Workload Students will, in consultation with the convener and relevant staff, pick a topic of study for the unit. The convener and relevant staff will provide a reading list to direct the students study appropriately. The student will then meet regularly with staff to discuss readings, and plan assessment tasks.
Course Classification(s) SpecialistSpecialist courses are designed for students having reached 'first degree' level of assumed knowledge, which provide for the acquisition of specialist skills; or 'second degree' and higher level of knowledge; or for transition to research training programs; or knowledge associated with professional accreditation.
